In the year 1550 Sri Ramamathya has incorporated these Melakarthas in ‘Swaramela kalanidhi’, followed by Messrs. Venkata makhi and Govindachary who gave them a format and established them into complete ragas.These three founders of Melakartharagas can be termed as Swarathrayam. We all are indebted to them forever. Now Swaraveenapani , with the blessings of Goddess Saraswathy did encapsulate those 72 Melakartha ragas into a 6.30 minute hymn, 3.30 minutes hymn even penned the lyric. It is a revolutionary invention for the benefit of students of music and it’s lovers. That this project getting named Swaranidhi is incidental. Swaranidhi is the foundation for Rap, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Disco, Ghazal and Bhajan even more.
